Building & Upskilling Monroe County Talent
It is no secret that the coronavirus pandemic has made it more difficult for companies to combat talent shortages. Shortages are evident in highly technical positions in the fields of operations, logistics and manufacturing as well as countless unfilled roles that emphasize communication such as customer service, office administration, and marketing. Fortunately, there are a few options for you to assist with the building of local talent and the upskilling of current talent.
Manufacturing Day slots are filling up fast for the virtual MFG Day SEMCA is hosting on Friday October 1st 2021. This is your chance to get in front of approximately 3,000 high school students to expose them to the field of Manufacturing. There are three options for participation:

The application window for the program opens in September and will close the second week of October. A fact finding meeting with a local Michigan Works! Business Services Representative is required to access the portal. This is to ensure that you have full details of the program and are vetted prior to making application so you will want to schedule in the coming weeks to ensure portal access. If you are ready to set up your fact finding meeting please reach out and we can connect you with the BSR for your area.
