Manufacturers opened their doors …
Multiple manufacturers across the region opened their doors simultaneously to celebrate a successful National Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) on Oct. 5, 2018. These events are part of an effort to change perceptions about today’s manufacturing environment and draw attention to the outstanding opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide.
The BDC and the Monroe County Intermediate School District (MCISD) coordinated Monroe County’s efforts with the goal of exposing middle and high school students to local manufacturing career opportunities in one day. Schools from all nine districts: Airport Community Schools, Bedford Public Schools, Dundee Community Schools, Ida Public Schools, Jefferson Schools, Mason Consolidated Schools, Monroe Public Schools, Summerfield Schools and Whiteford Agricultural Schools participated.
In Monroe County, we had 18 manufacturers participate: Accuworx, Automatic Handling, Backyard Products, Baker’s Gas & Welding Supplies, FCA’s Dundee Engine Plant, Fluid Equipment Development Company (Fedco), Gerdau, Hanwha, Midway Products Group, Milan Metal Systems, Monroe Rubber & Plastic, MTS Seating, Premier Industries, ProService Machine, Rolled Alloys, Spiratex, TWB Company, and Ventower Industries.
Thanks to all who participated!
