Monroe City Councilman Christopher Bica Resigns

Monroe City Council will now be looking to fill a vacancy after councilman Christopher Bica announced his resignation.

The news came about on Monday night (June 17) when Bica submitted a letter regarding his immediate departure after over 3 years on staff for the 3rd Precinct.

Read by the city’s clerk-treasurer Charles Evans, Bica explained in the letter it had been a “privilege to serve” and that he “couldn’t [have asked] for better colleagues.”

Though there is no word on any potential candidates at this time, City council is hoping to find a replacement before an election for the seat that will take place in November.
