Tim Hortons will open in Dundee on Thursday. The store, located at 107 Cabela Blvd. across the lot from the Marathon gas station, will operate 24 hours starting at 6 a.m., said owner Mike Abdallah. Mr. Abdallah’s family are part owners of the plaza the Tim Hortons is located in and also own the Marathon and Jerky outlet in the same lot. When the storefront in the plaza opened, Mr. Abdallah, along with his brother Nasser, asked the franchise if they could open the restaurant. With the constant traffic from Cabela’s and Splash Universe, Mr. Abdallah said he is confident that the store and drive thru will be busy. Tim Hortons will open with a staff of 25 and is replacing the former USA Power Sports in the plaza. David Uhl, interim village manager of Dundee, said the new restaurant is a welcome addition to the area. “With the way the economy has been, we’re excited as a community when we see an upturn in commercial growth,” Mr. Uhl said. “We’re seeing a lot of progress.”
