A company serving the energy and oil and gas industries in the area has opened in Monroe. VRC Protx moved to 455 Detroit Ave. from Oak Park in January.
The company repairs and replaces valves for power plants and gas companies in the field or in its 20,000- square- foot facility, said Michael Cullen, marketing director for Dale Prentice Co.
Some of its clients include DTE Energy and Marathon.
The company relocated to Monroe because the facility met its space requirements and already contained equipment it needed, said Dave Yocum, operations manager. The business employs seven people.
VRC Protx plans to host an open house June 19. For more information, visit vrcprotx.com.
